West Austin Studio Tour (WEST) - The tour, the friends, and the beadwork

The WEST tour was amazing and surpassed my expectations in so many ways.  At the beginning of this year, I wished for COLLABORATION.  I wanted to link up with other artists and work together.  Being a small business owner can be isolating at times and it's easy to get stuck in your own way of doing things.  I wanted to push myself by working with others to make a vision come true.  My wish came true with this studio tour and our Women of WEST showcase.  

I met Julie Ahmad during my time in small business school with the City of Austin.  We were in small groups together and fast became friends and business buddies.  I called Julie up at the beginning of the year and asked if she was doing WEST.  A few calls later and our group show was set to include: Julie Ahmad, Kristin Moore, Billy Claire, Ayla Erdener and myself.

And wow, the show came together so well!  Every woman on this team worked so hard and I've learned so much from each and every one.  Collaboration is truly where the magic happens!
